This year, for the fourth consecutive season, the Árasztó-part on the Danube bank in Albertfalva welcomed those looking to relax with two new sunshades. The Árasztó-part experienced two floods this year, and in September we removed all the movable furniture from the area, which many of you helped with.
Similarly to previous years, we have once again transformed the area into a recreation and leisure park with a small budget and small interventions.
The Danube bank section, which can be reached by bike from Fővám Square in just 25 minutes, offers sun loungers, picnic tables, bicycle storage, barbecue and grilling areas, a sand volleyball court and numerous oleanders. The first and completely unique compost toilet of Budapest is also located here.
The Friends of Árasztó-part group is still active, so that visitors can be informed first-hand about events and developments related to the beach, or if someone has left their keys or sweater, they have somewhere to turn. Thank you to all the enthusiastic beach users who watered the oleanders, picked up trash after themselves and even others!
The barbecue areas, the giant white concrete ‘pebbles’ and some benches can also be used in winter.
