Rakpart ~2025

On the RAKPART between Lánchíd and Erzsébet Bridge, on the Jane Haining rakpart, we created a temporary park to rest and a created a temporary public square, that got people close to the area of the city and the river.

The free, car-free lower quay of Pest awaits, where on weekends and public holidays, pedestrians and cyclists, young and old, two- and four-legged alike can have a great time: promenades, barbecues, evening walks, conversations, community programs!

In 2025, RAKPART will be open on weekends from March 15, and then in the summer from June 21 to mid-August, in preparation for the state celebration on August 20, in a continuous format.

The RAKPART project was born in the spirit of the urbanistic trend called placemaking. Placemaking is intended to promote the reinterpretation of areas not used by the population of the city, showing possible future uses with temporary devices and recreational activities. The long-term renewal of the lower quay of Pest holds the potential for a livable and people-centered capital.
