Beyond the lower quays, we have created a public space that’s flood-proof with functions that everyone can use. The grill that often occurs in the life of Valyo finally got a permanent location here.
The thermal water from the effluent of the Gellért Baths was previously collected in a “jacuzzi” formed by the spontaneous laying of stones. In the spring of 2016, in the hope of increasing use, 50 university students expanded this with new functions, as a continuation of the Ficcenés elements from the previous year. Our goal was to bring life to the “deserted” quay. This year, every group of Beton workshop worked on this site.
This is how the grill that has become a symbol of the area was completed, a new set of stairs on the sloping quay, additional Ficcenés elements for seating, a dog drinker, stepping stones, signpost figurines and an information board on Gellért Square.
The Kifolyó project develops organically today and it gives place to many grassroot events.
This series of developments also forms the basis of the Valyo Alsósétány concept.
