This year we started the fifth season of the Árasztó-part, that was realised on the Danube riverside of Albertfalva.
Just like in the previous years, with a low budget and with tiny interferences we transformed the area to a park to rest and do recreational activities in: the area gained 6 more picnic tables, it would be the perfect place for a Birthday grill. You can find a VALYO community grill here as well. We also renewed the first compost toilet of the Capital.
Accessible only 25 minutes of a bike ride away from Fővám square, on the Danube riverside you can find sunbeds, picnic tables, bike racks, grill places, a beach volleyball court and many oleanders. The first and only compost toilet of Budapest can also be found here.
The Friends of Árasztó-part Facebook group is still ongoing, so people who use the place can see information and events of the area first hand or if somebody lost their water bottle, keys or sweater they have somewhere to ask. We thank every passionate beach-goer, who watered the oleanders and picked up trash after themselves or even others.
The fireplace, the giant white “pebbles” and some benches can also be used in the winter.
We are happy that in August the newest free beach of Budapest opened for three weeks on the Árasztó-part. The operation of the beach was done by Budapest Gyógyvíz és Hévízei Zrt.
