Ciclovia Budapest

The road as a weekend community space

The Ciclovia initiative in Budapest seeks to introduce an international practice that works well in many cities around the world. In the Ciclovias, downtown roads are open to pedestrians and cyclists on weekends.

The first Ciclovia in Budapest was established on the initiative of a Chilean student who spent her internship in our capital, jointly organized by several non-governmental organizations dealing with public spaces and transport, on the Pest bank between the Margaret Bridge and the Chain Bridge.
