Valyo’s latest project, the revival of Hengermalom, a former roller mill, continues in 2025. The Hengermalom project strives to both honour the Danube riverside industrial heritage and transform it into a modern community space: a place where the industrial character of the past meets the creativity of the present.

By the end of last year, we completed the Hengermalom utilization strategy, outlining possibilities for the next 5-10 years on how the area can become a community space where we can all be grinding towards the same goal!

We believe that truly lasting places, built on the needs of the local community, can only be created through small steps. The goal is to establish a stable anchor point in this rapidly changing neighborhood, where there is time and space to create and act thoughtfully.

The site connects to the heart of Budapest not only through its natural setting and inspiring panorama by the Danube, but also because here, away from the hustle and bustle, there’s an opportunity for rest, community experiences, and creativity.

Last year, with the Kelesztés pop-up program series, we opened the Hengermalom spaces to everyone and tested the recipe for what this exciting new place could offer.
